Advanced Customer Matching

* Advanced matching should only be tried if the basic matching option has not worked. 

The Advanced Customer Matching option can be found in the top right hand corner of your Customer Matching Page, this is displayed as an On/Off toggle.

This option allows you to match the mandates of customers who have pre-existing links between GoCardless and Xero. 

If you switch on this option the customer search will include all of your Xero customer records that are already linked to a mandate. 

This is useful if you have a GoCardless customer who has cancelled a Direct Debit mandate When they sign a new mandate you may need to merge their new GoCardless record into the existing GoCardless for Xero record. This option will enable you to do so.

Once you leave this page the 'Enable Advanced Matching' will be automatically switch off.

When you turn on advanced matching you will always be greeted with the generic warning label. Matching a customer is a irreversible merge. Read the text and click 'I understand, please continue' to make use this feature.
